THE CORNER

Please don’t turn the corner

Leaving me here,

All cold and alone to face my fears.

Just can’t catch up

Haven’t got the strength

You went the distance

But I can’t go the length.

You walked away and left me,

Standing here alone,

Please come back and get me

I want to go home.

But in the end you still left me behind,

So many thoughts 

Going through my mind.

Thought you’d come back

To capture me,

Take me in your arms

Away from all this lonleyness

Keep me safe from harm.

I stood and I waited

Still you never came.

Left me standing crying,

Feeling so much pain.

I will never understand

Why did you leave me at the corner.
