THE CORNER

Please don’t turn the corner

Leaving me here,

All cold and alone to face my fears.

Just can’t catch up

Haven’t got the strength

You went the distance

But I can’t go the length.

You walked away and left me.

Standing here alone,

Please come back and get me

I want to go home.

But in the end you still left me behind.

So many thoughts

Going through my mind.

Thought you’d come back

To capture me,

Take me in your arms

Away from all this loneliness

Keep me safe from harm.

I stood and I waited

Still, you never came.

Left me standing crying,

Feeling so much pain.

I will never understand

Why did you leave me at the corner?

In a quiet corner, a girl sits alone, wrapped in her own sadness. The room around her feels distant, as if the walls are closing in, yet no one notices her small, trembling figure. Her world has shrunk to that single spot, where shadows seem to whisper the weight of her loneliness.

She hugs her knees tight, seeking comfort in the smallest embrace she can muster. Thoughts swirl inside her mind, heavy and tangled, making it hard to find a reason to lift her head. The silence is loud, filled with unspoken emotions and unanswered questions.

But even in that solitude, there is a quiet strength growing within her. Though she feels invisible now, the pain she carries is part of her story—one that will not define her forever. Somewhere beyond that corner, light waits to reach her, promising a new beginning and the courage to stand again.
